Recent regulatory updates have been implemented affecting shipping operations in Gabon, Cameroon, and Congo. Here’s what you need to know:
Gabon:
BIETC Certificate: Effective immediately, BIETC certificates must be pre-validated before vessel departure. Obtain a draft copy early and ensure approval from your official agent to avoid delays or penalties. Pelican International Services and Pelship Offshore SAL are exclusive agent for Lebanon, the Middle East, and Gulf regions.
Cameroon:
Shipping Documents: For goods to Cameroon, include detailed commercial descriptions, HS codes for each item, and the initial year of registration for vehicles. Non-compliance may lead to fines from CFAF 500,000 to CFAF 2,000,000.
Congo:
Pointe Noire: Ensure ECTN is compulsory in shipping documents for oil cargoes. Failure to comply may result in penalties according to current regulations.
Stay updated with these requirements to maintain smooth shipping operations and regulatory compliance in these regions.
